The Super Condenser
Air Conditioning and refrigeration units that are air-cooled can benefit a great deal from the use of the Super Condenser from EDS. The unit pre-cools and sub-cools the refrigerant before entering the evaporator. Estimated savings from this unit is about 20% with increase performance and cooling capacity of air conditioning and refrigeration units with the benefit of adding to the life of the compressor. By pre-cooling with the Super Condenser results in reducing the amount of heat your condenser must dissipate, resulting in a more cost effective and efficient system. Air-cooled systems have a condensing unit whose purpose is to cool the hot gas coming from the compressor into a cold liquid. This cold liquid is then sent on to the evaporator to do the cooling. The cooler the gas means less heat the condenser must dissipate and the more efficient the system will operate. Pre-cooling dramatically improves the condensers ability to make the liquid colder, making the evaporator colder. This in turn, turns off the compressor sooner and thereby saving dollars in energy cost. Additionally, sub-cooling eliminates flash gas further cooling the evaporator. As a result of there being colder liquid and cooler gas circulating in the system, head pressure is less and the compressor does not work as hard and thereby providing additional savings in energy cost. The reduction of head pressure and sub-cooling additionally creates an expanded cooling capacity which could possibly eliminate the need for additional or larger compressors.
